The old mule road from Tenero to Sonogno goes first left and then right along Verzasca. Granite blocks, two-arch natural stone bridges, chapels and a magical village in the back – the 25 km long Verzasca Valley. The walk will take about ten hours, fortunately there are regular mail buses.

From Mellingen AG continue upwards towards Bremgarten. It’s a route that takes almost four hours and is by no means monotonous. Pass the old abbey in Gnadenthal and relax at a secluded picnic area. The sheltered coastal forest provides great shade on hot summer days. At the end of the walk, look back at Reuss on the terrace of Café Bijou in Bremgarten.

The Vorderrhein valley enchants with steep rock faces, wild currents and sandy beaches. The unique hiking trail, Trans Ruinaulta, winds through the Vorderrhein from Illanz via Versam to Reichenau. If you want to explore the whole valley, you need a whole day for 27 km.

Walk through the mouth of Emmenbrücke through the Unesco Biosphere Entlebuch to Emmensprung in Sörenberg, a romantic river path. A route that can be shortened by train or bus, depending on your mood and tired legs. The road runs along the main road between Wolhusen Bad and the train station.

Hike along the Rhine for up to six hours. The historical road leads from Stein am Rhein to Schaffhausen. Be sure to take a break in the picturesque town of Diessenhofen TG – there are enough restaurants. At the Lower Paradies, take the ferry across the Rhine, then take the direct route to Schaffhausen.

Four lakes in six hours in the magnificent mountains around Titlis. The route starts at the Melchsee-Frutt cable car station. It crosses the Melchsee to Tannensee and to Engstlensee. To Jochpass at 2207 m above sea level. M. climbs, from there descends to Trübsee.

A four-hour hike to St-Ursanne from the farming village of Soubey in the heart of the Doubs Valley. At Les lots de Soubey the still creek turns into a wild river. It is romantic to go to Tariche restaurant by small ferry. When you arrive in St-Ursanne, be sure to wander around the picturesque town.

The Areuse river, with a loud roar, rush and hum, forces it to pass through the valley. Only with good shoes, walk the natural landscape in three hours. The best starting point of the pass is Noiraigue. After the quaint rock towers and wild water, Boudry’s manicured vineyards look especially beautiful.

From Romainmôtier, a secluded road leads along the river Nozon to Croy. Then it quickly goes downhill to Nozon Gorge. The wet view of the waterfall in the Cascades du Dard is spectacular. And after a short climb to Ferreyres, the next waters dive deeper: Tine des Conflens. The final destination is the picturesque town of La Sarraz.

The varied, almost four-hour hike begins at Charmey and descends from Lac de Montsalven to the dam. Then a steep downhill descends into the Jaunbach Gorge: hiking and exploring the geology of the Pre-Alps at the same time. The road leads through the narrow passage to Broc. Cross the Chapelle des Marches to the town of Gruyères.
