Elton John says goodbye: pop musician completes farewell tour in Stockholm

British pop star Elton John has ended his farewell tour, which may have lasted many years. On his last appearance as part of the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, which included more than 300 concerts, the 76-year-old played many of his world hits on Saturday night in the Swedish capital Stockholm, such as “Rocket Man”, “I stand still” and “Crocodile Rock”. “Candle in the Wind” was also included.

The pop musician had announced that he wanted to take a step back after the tour to spend more time with his husband David Furnish and their two sons. “I’ve had the best career,” he said in Stockholm during his encore, before closing the performance with the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” He left it open to what extent he could remain musically active in the future.
