A technology developed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) in Zurich has made it possible to realistically depict beings made of fire or water, as the university announced on Thursday.

“Our technology can transfer the structure of any input image to smoke, flames, and even liquids,” Solenthaler explained. According to the researcher, this also makes possible an artistic and natural representation.
Zurich is not the first appearance of the technology: it was already used in the computer-animated fantasy movie “Raya and the Last Dragon”, which was released in 2021.
