Hollywood Boulevard with the Walk of Fame is the most famous street in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles – you either love or hate the mega city. One thing is clear: The movie capital is definitely not a beauty. It’s more about the talent of the sun, money and celebrities. And about the food! Anyone who is bothered by the hours wasted here in the car commuting can at least be sure: a super restaurant is guaranteed at your destination! Here are six culinary tips for your next LA stay:

Smorgasburg Food Market

Los Angeles goes crazy for local food producers who focus on healthy ingredients and quality. Self-respecting people shop at organic stores or the farmer’s market and head downtown for a Sunday snack. With dozens of food stands, Smorgasburg Market is the largest of its kind in the area. Everything delicious is on offer, from fresh oysters to Asian and Mexican delicacies and deluxe burgers. Here you can eat the offer for hours. Every Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00. Address: 785 Bay St, Los Angeles, CA 90021, USA

Sawtelle Japantown

Ramen is a cult, not just in Japan. (icon image)

Sawtelle Japantown is on the way from Hollywood to Santa Monica Beach. Definitely a stop! Japanese Quarter may be only four blocks in size, but it’s home to Los Angeles’ best ramen restaurants. For the best noodle soup, head to Tatsu Ramen on Sawtelle Avenue. My favorite is the “Soul Ramen” with ground beef and a slice of braised pork. To pamper! Vegetarian varieties are also offered.

Fly: Just around the corner is the Black Market with designer accessories and cool outfits. Great store!

Address: Sowtelle -2123 Sawtelle Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90025

Located west of downtown LA and south of Hollywood, Koreatown is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

koreatown

Koreatown, west of downtown, is a city within a city. Even though you can sometimes hear a good portion of Korean and Spanish, you really feel like you’re in Asia here. In addition to crazy shops with Asian quirks, restaurants are also a magical attraction here. Korea is known for its barbecue that you cook yourself on the tabletop grill. A “poem” is the duck barbecue at the small restaurant “Sun Ha Jang” (4032 W. Olympic Blvd).

Fly: All hobbyists and color lovers will find Asian artist items not available at specialist stores in Switzerland at “Top’s Art Supplies”.

Address: 3447 W.8th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90005

American

Americans like to copy European flair, probably because American cities are rarely beautiful. The Americana mall in the suburb of Glendale is reminiscent of Paris, with a miniature chateau garden and an old tram. You can shop here for better quality brands. A visit to the Chinese restaurant “Din Tai Fung” specializing in ground beef is especially worthwhile. Stuffed meatballs are an explosion of taste on the tongue. Be sure to try «Soup Dumblings». It is filled with various meats and soup. Wow!

Abbey Food and Bar

People ALSO go to the Abbey in West Hollywood to eat (everything that tastes good, from salads to burgers to Asian to Mexican), but above all to see and be seen. Abbey is one of the most famous gay bars in the world. During the holidays (especially during LA Pride) and in the evenings, this is where the party goes, including male pole dancers. Many Hollywood stars of both sexes stop by regularly (or are there three now?). So: open your eyes!

Address: Abbey Dining & Bar | Chapel in the Abbey

Firestone Walker Brewing Company

The United States has more fast food chains than any other country. A burger is also a must in Los Angeles. /icon

Just a stone’s throw from Venice Beach is the Firestone Walker boutique brewery. The on-site “The Propagator Restaurant” has hearty things to go with a beer (make sure to order a “Line” of different varieties). The focus is clearly on hamburgers and the like, but tacos and pizza are also available. Tasty.

Fly: The “Umami Burger” restaurant chain, which has many outlets in Los Angeles, also has very good gourmet burgers.

Address: Firestone Walker Brewery 620 McMurray Rd Buellton, CA 93427

Address: Umami Burger Santa Monica: 525 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA 90401
