The big folk festival in the city of Zurich takes place only once every three years. Due to the pandemic, Züri Fest fans had to wait even four years this time! Possibly the most beautiful lake scene in Switzerland – if not in Europe – is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It is the successful production of the famous master hairdresser Dällebach Kari, who celebrates his return on the anniversary. As early as 2010, the story of the original city of Bern excited audiences at Lake Thun and will now once again captivate many visitors from 12 July to 26 August 2023. As the life and destiny of Dällebach Kari is touched by its tragedy, it also touches with many emotional memories and is the original pun of the Bernese city that has not been forgotten to this day. Perhaps the most famous, but most importantly, the most strenuous paragliding race in the world is also celebrating its 20th anniversary. Reason enough for all non-nature sports athletes to participate in this fascinating competition. For two weeks, the world’s best paragliders hike and fly in the Alps. This year’s route also runs through Switzerland and serves as one of the checkpoints for Frutigresort athletes in Frutigen, home of seven-time X-Alps winner Chrigel Maurer. From here it ascends to the Niesen River, where it emerges again into the air. On this occasion, there will be a public X-Alps Village available for free at Frutigresort from 11th to 21st June 2023 and featuring live streams, a banquet, a jumping castle and much more. A unique opportunity to see athletes in action in a great atmosphere in the middle of the Bernese Oberland.

On the night of 1-2 July 2023, the annual Swiss Nature Walk Night will be held again. The program includes a good eighty walks across Switzerland, varying in difficulty and duration. But all tours have one thing in common: the experience of being outside in nature and around us at night. Completely new sensory perceptions await hikers, many unknown noises and smells that are hardly noticeable during the day when visibility is good. Another classic of the Swiss Walk Night, presented by longtime hiking guide Peter Rohrer, is the long walk around Lake Sarnen. It starts at 22:15 and ends at sunrise. The outdoor density in Switzerland is probably unique in the world. Gurten Festival or Openair St. Gallen have become an integral part of the summer program.
