Jennifer Lawrence celebrated her breakthrough even before she became Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games series, won an award in Venice for her feature film debut On Burning Earth, caused a sensation with the indie film Winter’s Bone and had in “X-Men: First Class” is her first major blockbuster role. But, of course, it is the films of the “Hunger Games” series that really made her famous and are still particularly closely associated with her name. She has already played Katniss Everdeen four times – will there be a fifth?
In an interview with the magazine If anything, the actress gave her fans hope and stated she was ready for a return: Should the opportunity arise to play Katniss Everdeen again, she would be 100 percent readyLaurent explains. Her statement when asked if she would play Katniss again:
“Oh my god – absolutely! If Katniss ever comes back into my life, 100 percent!”
What makes it so special is that it dispenses with the usual restrictions, which actors like to do when asked to return to an old role. She doesn’t say she’ll look into it if a special approach is found or think about it if there’s a really good idea. She flatly says she would be there, even underlining this twice in her statement with complete certainty and explicitly without qualification (“absolutely”, “100 percent”).

First of all, fans of the “Hunger Games” movies have to get used to a new heroine. Lawrence has no place in the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes (theatrical release date: November 16, 2023) – after all, the story takes place more than six decades before the events of her films. Instead, “West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler takes center stage.
But maybe after that there will be ideas for new sequels. After all, there were always rumors about a possible “The Hunger Games 5”. But first we see Jennifer Lawrence in a completely different role.
