“Leprechaun 9” is coming: like the US industry magazine reports that Studio Lionsgate is currently working on another installment of the long-lived slasher series, which began in 1993 with “Leprechaun – The Killer Goblin” and has since had seven sequels. The latest entry in the horror comedy franchise is 2018’s Leprechaun Returns.
In the first six movies – i.e. “Leprechaun” and its sequels “Leprechaun 2”, “Leprechaun 3”, “Leprechaun 4: In Space” aka “Space Platoon”, “Leprechaun In The Hood” and “Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood ” ) – “Star Wars” icon Warwick Davis played the eponymous goblin who terrorizes a family in part 1 in search of his stolen gold, but later also has adventures in space (a nice slasher tradition).
In “Leprechaun: Origins” from 2014 and “Leprechaun Returns” from 2019, the actor, also known for “Willow”, was no longer there and again writes, Warwick Davis shouldn’t be in the ninth “Leprechaun” movie either. And that fits with what else is known about the project:
