Pablo Isla, the new director of the German Bertelsmann Group

The appointment will be effective from 1 April 2024

The supervisory board of German media, services and education consortium Bertelsmann yesterday announced the appointment of director Pablo Isla, who it said would bring “additional international experience” to the company. The appointment will be effective from April 1, 2024, the consortium said in a statement, in which the chairman of the supervisory board, Christoph Mohn, said that the former chairman of Inditex at the head of the Spanish company “is an impressive international success story. Isla has shown, said Mohn , “that success and responsibility go hand in hand with entrepreneurs. He will enrich the supervisory board of Bertelsmann with his management and experience. I look forward to working with him,” he added.

Isla is the president of the board of directors of the IE University and the former president of the Inditex group and the companies Altadis and Logista, and is considered one of the most prestigious national and international Spanish executives. He was born in Madrid, Spain, on January 22, 1964.
