If the CNMV offers you a job, be suspicious, it may be a scam

Author: CNMV

The agency warns that its image is being faked in order to promote courses of 190 euros with the promise of guaranteed employment

National Commission for the Stock Market (CNMV) warned this Monday about the existence of companies that “fraudulently” use your identity and corporate imageas well as duly registered financial entities, to make “false offers to investors”, according to the press release.

Specifically, and according to the information that investors provide through various consultations with supervision, these companies impersonate Eurex Repo GMBH, a German entity duly registered to provide investment services in Europe. According to the CNMV, the goal is “to confuse the investor and give the impression of legality and seriousness”.

“After contacting potential investors, they are offered courses supposedly approved by the CNMV, which, upon completion, would guarantee a job», to deepen. For this illegal activity, companies They charge 190 euros for course registration.

CNMV reminds that it “never” offers courses for investors on how to invest, “much less, in a paid way.” It therefore indicates that any offer of this kind is “misleading and false”, a fraud. “If offers of investment services arrive from duly authorized entities, it is convenient to check whether the person offering them is an authorized entity, and not someone impersonating their identity,” recommends the supervisor.

It also advises to verify that an Internet domain or email is from an authentic entity and not a clone as a safeguard.

For any query, the CNMV states that the investor can contact the authority directly through the website, in the Investors and Financial Education section, using the form provided for submitting queries in the CNMV-Queries section.

Inquiries can also be submitted electronically, via the electronic headquarters of the Financial Markets Supervisor, using a certificate, electronic DNI or username and password.
