Panama faces Costa Rica in their match today at Concacaf Nations League for a place in Final Four.
Panama’s national team must get a positive result today, Tuesday, March 28, when they travel to the San José National Stadium against Costa Rica, in a match scheduled for 20:00 local time (21:00 Panama time).
Win or tie serves Panama to seal their passage to the final stage of League A of the Nations League, which will be played in Las Vegas in June.
In the standings of Group B of League A, after three controversial dates, Panama leads with 7 points, followed by Costa Rica with 6 and Martinique with 1.
Thomas Christiansen, coach of the national eleven, will try to achieve s Panama something that has never succeeded in its history, which is to win a visit to Costa Rica in an official match.
The coach of the Panamanian team repeated that he had prepared the match against Costa Rica conscientiously.
“It was very important to be together in Penonomé all these days, to have a charter flight, that all the players are focused on the work we will do and we will look for a good result,” the coach added.
Christiansen insisted on the respect that the opponent deserves and clarified that the goal is to start writing a new story for Panama and what better time to do so than by qualifying for the Final Four.
“It is true that we are on the right track, but we haven’t done anything yet and we have to start writing our history,” he said.
The coach also called for respect for the opponent.
“To begin with, we have to respect the opponent. When we say that we have to classify ourselves as yes or yes, it is as if we are saying Costa Rica is nobody. And the truth is that there is a story behind i Costa Rica A few more World Cups are needed and you have to respect everyone. Of course, our idea is to go out and win a favorable result for placement in the Final Four”, said Thomas Christiansen.
“I have to thank the Federation for all the efforts they made to give me the opportunity to go to Penonomé. To train in natural terrain, which is something unusual for us”.
“It is true that we are on the right track, but we haven’t done anything yet and we have to start writing our history,” he said. Christiansen.
