Gadis was chosen as one of the ten most responsible supermarket and hypermarket chains in Spain in terms of ESG (Environment, society and governance) to promote corporate social responsibility, as shown in the Merco Empresas y Líderes ranking. This outstanding position supports the commitment of the company with 100% Galician capital to achieve a positive impact on its environment through a strategy of economic, social and ecological sustainability. The supermarket chain is also among the ten companies in its sector with the best corporate reputation in the country. Gadis is also the only Galician chain that appears on these lists and that Merco has been producing since 2000. «Since its inception, Gadis has dealt with sustainability transversally through the entire value chain with the purpose of creating shared wealth with its immediate environment. One of its characteristics is that it gives preference to fresh, local and seasonal products,” the company explains in a statement.
