Hilton enters the world of wine and lands in Mendoza with a “bodega hotel”

Curio Collection by Hilton opens in the first semester. It will be the first wine-urban hotel in the region. The local partner is Julio Camsen, owner of the Sheraton Mendoza and the boutique winery Huentala Wines

Chain Hilton gets on boom for wine tourism and landings in Mendoza with the first hotel-winery of the region. The brand comes from the hands of a businessman from Mendoza Julius Camsen, owner of Sheraton and Huentala accommodation, both in the heart of the city.

The hotel will open under the brand Hilton’s Curio Collection, representing a global portfolio of more than 135 hotels and resortswith more than 75 other hotels currently under design and construction around the world.

“The opening no date yet but it will be in the first semester. The hotel will have 67 roomsmeeting rooms, gym, roofing and a gastronomic area with suggestions of regional and international cuisine, where you can taste the wines of all Mendoza wineries,” he explained Pablo Maturana, Hilton’s vice president of development for the Caribbean and Latin America.

In addition, the accommodation will have an exclusive production line for high-quality wines from the winery Wines of Huental in one of the basements. “They will be the first bodega-urban hotel in the regionwhere, in addition to learning more about wine production, guests will be able to taste the best wines in the country,” added the executive director.

The hotel will be located 9 kilometers from the international airport and in the heart of Mendoza. It belongs to a group Huentala hotel investmentswhich leads Camsen. Next to the Sheraton Mendoza Hotel and the Huentala Hotel, will add more than 350 rooms.

The wines of Huental are one of many Camsen’s Endeavors. The winery in Valle de Uco has its own vineyard and produces premium labels that it exports to eight countries on different continents.

For the Hilton chain, it is another step in Argentina and the region. “At the end of 2022, the brand celebrated the opening of its 200th hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America with the Waldorf Astoria Cancun. This milestone capped a decade of strong and continuous growth, whereby the company tripled its regional portfolio and added 75% to the current portfolio of hotels”, said Maturana.

Hilton is present in 29 countries in the region. In Argentina there are more than 20 years. Today, there are seven open hotels and another 10 accommodations under design and construction.

The American hotel brand has a business model of light capital, that is, it is not directly owned by the hotel. In this case, the investment is in the hands of the Huentala Inversiones Hoteleras group. “As a management and franchise company, we are focused solely on delivering optimal profitability to hotel owners. Hilton brings the resources, tools and talent that drive market-leading metrics that translate into significant competitive advantages,” said the CEO.
