Why American dogs won’t have fun in the car anymore
You will only be a dog in the US state of Florida. Then you will soon be forbidden by law to have fun in the car. Hang your head out the window, tongue flapping in the wind? Not allowed anymore!
What dog hater came up with that? Lauren Book, Florida State Senator. She introduced a bill, Bill 932, that will do a lot of good for animals. For example, she wants to ban cosmetic tests on animals and the declawing of cats.
No more fun in the car because of new law?
Very good! Cheers to Lauren Book. But there is something else in their bill. Something dogs don’t like. You must no longer sit loosely in the car or on the motorcycle.
Dogs only in a harness or cage
Fair is fair, that’s so sure, of course. But dogs lose their freedom to enjoy riding with their heads in the wind. If Bill 932 passes, they must be in a special belt or in a container or cage.
This cage – in the back seat or in the trunk – should have enough space for the dog and offer him or her protection from rain, sleet, snow, sleet, direct sunlight, etc.
Resistance among American motorists
Typically American is opposition to the bill. Some motorists believe the government should stay out of their cars with their rules. freedom, honey! Would you know that there are thousands of US passenger car regulations?
Are there special rules for dogs in the Netherlands?
By the way, you would expect the Netherlands to have official rules for transporting a dog or other pet, but no… There aren’t any. With us, Fido, Bumper or Diesel can simply bark at other dogs out of the open window.
