Panamanian triathletes ready for action in Guatemala

Panamanian athletes Michelle Vega, Liska Arteaga, Diego Lucero and Oliver Batista will defend the national colors in World Regional Triathlon Development Cup 2023 Amatique Bay, which will take place from February 17 to 20 in Guatemala.

The regional camp begins on Friday with familiarization with the terrain where the swimming competitions, walking and cycling races will be held.

On Saturday is the presentation of the ladies, warm-up, opening of the transit area and registration of competitors.

Then at 7:00 the competition in the women’s category begins, and at 7:00, an hour later, the men will see action and the individual triathlon awards in the sprint distance (750 meters swim, 19.25 km bike and 5 km race walk) will be at 10 :00 in the morning.

On Sunday, it will be the super sprint distance mixed relay competition and the culmination of the Amatique Bay 2023 World Triathlon Development Regional Cup.

In this edition, athletes from Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador and Puerto Rico

Liska Arteagashe was recently the winner in her category at Sherman Olympic and Sprint Triathlon 2023when crossing the finish line with a time of 1:12:45.

Panamanian athletes have been training hard for this competition, which opens the 2023 international season.

In addition, some aim for Ironman 70.3 of Panama which will be held on March 12.

A good response from Panamanians at the fair is expected.
