The Panama Canal will increase daily transit to 27

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announced a new adjustment to meet the growing demand for transits, by increasing the number of daily slots available at Panamax locks.

Currently, 24 ships a day pass through interoceanic waterways, and this will increase to 27.

It was explained that two additional seats would be offered by auction for the transit dates scheduled from March 18and additional space will be available for scheduled transits beginning at March 25.

“These measures allow most ships that want to pass through the canal to have a better chance of getting a reservation,” the entity explains.
