The thrill of Panamanian chess is backfrom the young boards with the 2024 National Category Championship, an event organized by the Panamanian Chess Federation, led by Luis Esquivel.
Registration for the nationals by category, to be played from February 21 to 24, is now open and membership fees are waived on this occasion, reported President Esquivel, who reiterated his board’s commitment to continue spreading the sport to the masses.
The official venue of this competition will be City of Irving Saladinowhere the best chess players in the categories up to 8, up to 10, up to 12, up to 14, up to 16 and up to 18 years old will show their skills in a high-ranking tournament.
The event will attract talented youth from all provinces, giving players the opportunity to keep moving pieces to improve their game, skills and experience.
