Tico Mudarra beats Archibold in ‘final sprint’

The fifth phase of International cycling tour Chiriquí and five different leaders had the general classification, on this occasion it went to Chiricano Franklin Archiboldwho came in second place, a stage won by a Costa Rican Pablo Murrada from the team (Colono Bikestation Kolbi).

This Friday, the fifth stage ride between the cities took place David-San Pablo-Los Anastacios- Potrerillos- La Chancleta and David, for some considered the queen of the Chiricano turnaround phase.

Archibold did well to chase down a solo breakaway that Tico made Sebastian Moya which started with the ascent of Potrerillo, stayed on the hill of La Canchecleta, but culminated in the descent Boquete of Doleg cWhen he was caught by Archibold, Roberto González and other runners.

Moya won an award for Mountain on Loma La Chancletawhere Gabriel Rojas came in second place, in order to secure the necessary points to remain in the lead Monataña Award.

Gabriel Rojas from the team (7C Economy Lacoinex), adds 17 points and leads the standings at Mountain award.

But upon arrival at the Parque de Las Madres in the city of David, in the “final sprint”, by half a wheel, Attic Pablo Mudarra took victory over Chiricano Franklin Archibold which made a time of 3 hours 27 minutes and 2 seconds.

At the same time, the railway crossed theformer Roberto González (Rally Giant) who finished in third place, in a group of 14 drivers who went to the finish line to win.

For this Saturday it will be 153 kilometers, starting from David and visiting places like SLorenzo, Chiriquí, Gualaca, Los Planes and Las Lomas. Furthermore, on this sixth day, the mountain champion will be catapulted.
