Young people still represent 54% of the unemployed

For every 100 unemployed, 54 of them are between 15 and 29 years oldwhich is in the so-called youth unemployment.

Statistics show that unemployment mostly affects young people, with rate of 15.4%, well above the unemployment rate of 7.4% this year.

This reality is evident, despite the fact that the unemployed population fell from 203,253 to 155,625 people between April 2022 and August 2023, reflecting that It has failed to shrink in the last two years.

In other words, the labor market was unable to absorb this important age groupaccording to statistics.

From the youth population, 78 thousand unemployed took steps to get a job.

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), 267 million young people worldwide do not have employment, education or training.

In September, UNESCO held a symposium in the country to address this issuewhose main objective was to discuss strategies for preparing young people to facilitate a successful transition to the labor market and address the challenges they face in terms of training and opportunities.
