The Tobi Amusan, Nigerian the world champion and world record holder in the 100m hurdles, was temporarily suspended this Wednesday because she could not be traced three times World athletics required to undergo anti-doping control for a year.
Amusan, 26, is currently barred from competing in any championships pending a final decision and must appear before a three-judge panel before the World Cup in Budapest, Hungary, in August, facing a possible two-year ban.
“I am a clean athlete and I regularly (perhaps more than usual) passed AIU2 tests,” said the athlete.
“I was tested a few days after the third ‘failed test’. I believe that it will be resolved in my favor and that I will perform at the World Cup,” he added.
Tobi Amusan requests respect for his private life as he prepares his arguments before the arbitration.
Amusan’s last competition was yesterday at Monument to Gyulai István in Hungary, by winning the 100 meters with a time of 12.35.
