This Tuesday, the government approved an increase in the price of a gallon of solid fuel to $3.25 for 91-octane gasoline and diesel.
With this measure, fuel price subsidization is extended until August 14.
For President Laurentin Cortiz, who chaired the Cabinet Council, this is an important support for the population.
This benefit for consumers of 95 octane gasoline has been suspended since last April.
“This decision extends the effects of Article 1 of Government Resolution No. 60 of May 19, 2022, which temporarily stabilizes the price of fuel, with a state contribution of up to 10 million dollars,” according to the press release of the Presidency.
The country’s government seeks to continue to promote economic growth in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, industry and tourism, among others, while ensuring that the price of the ticket for the population does not increase, as well as the guarantee of job creation and that inflation in Panama is among the lowest in the world.
