The treasury raises to 50,000 euros the limit exempted from guarantees in the debts of taxes transferred to communities

Official State Gazette (BOE) published this Saturday Order of the Ministry of Finance and Public Functions which increases to 50,000 euros the limit that is exempt from the obligation to provide a guarantee in requests for postponement or repayment of debts arising from ceded taxes whose collection management corresponds to the autonomous communities.

In this sense, the exempted limit for non-obligation to provide guarantees in the request for postponement or installment was 30,000 euros.

The aim of the measure is to make it easier for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations by giving greater flexibility of request for postponement in the context of temporary financial difficulties arising from the rise in prices caused by the war in Ukraine.

Namely, in March of last year, the Government passed an Order extending from April 15 from EUR 30,000 to EUR 50,000 the limit for exemption from providing a guarantee in the request for postponement and repayment of debts managed by it Tax agency and other agencies of the State Public Treasury.

Therefore, the norm published this Saturday in the BOE also equalizes the exemption limit in the case of tax debts assigned to autonomous communities.

In this sense, it is considered appropriate to establish the same threshold for exemption, while at the same time allowing taxpayers to take advantage of the cost savings of increasing the limit that does not require seeking guarantees to request deferrals and tax debt installments.
