Brazilian Vinicius Junior was awarded the XXXIII EFE Trophy for the best Ibero-American player by the Agency’s sports editorial office, highlighting his importance in the successes achieved with Real Madrid, with a double-digit number of goals and assists.
The first player to receive this award was the missing Panamanian Rommel Fernández when he was a member of Tenerife in the 1990-1991 season.
Another Central American who lifted this trophy was Costa Rican Keylor Navas when he played for Real Madrid, during the 2015-2016 campaign.
Vinicius who received the award at Real Madrid Sports City in Valdebebas before concentrating on Brazil for two international friendlies, against Guinea and Senegal, after finishing the season with Real Madrid.
‘Vini’ expressed his gratitude for the recognition as trophies like this urge him to “keep working and developing” to be at his best, while he was delighted to be given an award that six other Brazilians like Romario have already won.
