In court, Paul pleaded not guilty. He claimed that the knife belonged to someone else and he himself did not remember what happened, except that he had an argument with the deceased over the girl. In the end, the teenager was found guilty. Five years later he was released and joined the service as a social worker.

Now Carberry has assured that he sincerely regrets his action. “It’s something I regret every day of my life. The family didn’t have a person they loved dearly because of me,” Paul said in an interview with The Sun.
