The first season of the cult series about paranormal phenomena The X-Files began on September 10, 1993. And almost a year later – on September 25, 1994 – the main female lead Gillian Anderson became a mother. She had a daughter named Piper Maru. The father of the child was the deputy production designer on the site, Clyde Klotz – in general there was an office romance.

The pregnancy of the lead actress in the middle of a promising project may have angered the showrunners and questioned her participation in the series, but Chris Carter was not such a “Karabas Barabas”. Not only did he defend the actress from Fox studio bosses who wanted to fire Anderson, but he also rewrote the script to make time for Gillian’s maternity leave.

Carter hastily wrote in the episode with Scully’s alien abduction and gave the actress 10 days off from filming so she could safely give birth and at least recover a little. He also became the godfather of a newborn girl and even named one of the episodes of The X-Files after her, immortalizing her in history. The 15th episode of season 3 is called “Piper Maru”. At the age of six, the girl appeared with her mother in the film “Resident Joy”, but her Hollywood career seemed to end there. Unlike other famous children, Piper did not flash at parties, fashion shows and paparazzi chronicles.
