For her Westminster coronation, Catherine opted for an ivory gown by her favorite brand, Alexander McQueen. The Princess of Wales chooses outfits from this fashion house every time she has a particularly important event. The dress was decorated with romantic floral embroidery featuring the English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Irish shamrock, each symbolizing one of the four nations subject to the British crown.

Kate adorned her head with a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen floral wreath with 3D leaf embroidery. The wife of the first in line to the royal throne wore earrings that she inherited from Princess Diana. Lady Dee received this elegant piece of jewelry as a gift before she married Prince William’s father.

Round diamond stud earrings with a bell decorated with three additional rows of small diamonds, and each bell closure includes a pearl drop: this ornament perfectly complements Katherine’s outfit. However, many saw the choice of earrings as a “jab” towards Camille, who became queen that day.

Catherine could have chosen any jewel from Elizabeth II’s box, but she preferred exactly the one that had previously belonged to the first wife of the current king.

Charles III was crowned. The weight of this piece of jewelry is 2.23 kg. The new version of the crown is made of solid gold and set with 444 precious and semi-precious stones, including rubies, sapphires, aquamarines, amethysts and tourmalines. This crown was made for the coronation of Charles II in 1661. It has been used for coronations since 1911.
