‘I wore a masterpiece’: Irina Shayk in ’90s ‘bride dress’ hits Met Gala track 05/02/2023, 07:15

On the night of May 2, one of the biggest fashion events of the year, the Met Gala, took place in New York. This time, the Costume Institute Ball was dedicated to the legacy of the iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.

Year after year, Irina Shayk showed spectacular images at the event. Today, she appeared in front of photographers in a floor-length white dress. The outfit was decorated with voluminous fabric roses in the neckline. Interestingly, the Russian woman abandoned heels in favor of flat shoes. This decision looked unusual, but it did not spoil the picture.

The native of Jemanželinsk kept her hair loose and decorated her neck with a massive necklace. Irina’s eye makeup made in burgundy colors also attracted attention.

“It is an honor to wear this Yohji Yamamoto masterpiece tonight at the Met Gala. This dress is from the spring/summer 1998 archive. I’ve always been a big fan of Yohji-san and his talent. Thank you to his entire team for making my dream come true,” Shayk wrote on her blog.

The opinion of Irina’s fans about her image was divided. Some showered the model with compliments, others described the outfit as unsuccessful.

On the eve of the event, the chosen Bradley Cooper recalled the outfits in which she appeared at the ball since 2017. Shayk usually preferred revealing dresses with necklines and side slits. The exception is last year, when Irina came out in an outfit that completely hid her body. The catwalk star wore a shirt, waistcoat, tie, jacket, trousers and gloves – all in black leather.
