On April 27, 2007, Kirill Lavrov, who played Pontius Pilate, died of leukemia. On the same day, another episodic actor Yevgeny Merkuriev died. He fell through the ice while fishing.
Alexander Abdulov played Korovyev, a demon from Woland’s retinue. Two years after the premiere, the actor became a father for the first time: in March 2007, lawyer Yulia Meshina gave birth to a daughter, Zhenya. And five months later, Abdulov underwent emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer, after which he began to have heart problems. On November 11, 2012, Ilya Oleinikov, who played Variety’s CFO Grigory Rimsky, died of lung cancer. The actor was 65 years old.
