Stars He lived with his wife for 40 years and left for a 20-year-old: Personal dramas of Stanislav Lyubshin

Stanislav Lyubshin was rightly considered one of the main beauties of Soviet cinema. Oh, how many women’s hearts sank from the piercing and so deep look of his Alexander Belov, a brave and noble scout from “Shield and Sword”. This role earned him the title of the best actor of 1968 according to a poll of readers of Soviet Screen magazine. At the same time, Lyubshin shone on the theater scene of the capital.

Immediately after graduating from theater school, he joined the Sovremennik troupe, whose performance was desired by all of Moscow, and immediately made his debut there in the play Five Evenings. After that, he worked at the Taganka Theater and the Theater for several years. Yermolova, and in the late 1970s he ended up at the theater on Malaya Bronnaya, when the legendary Anatoly Efros played there.

Early marriage

But all this time, fans sighed in vain with bouquets at the official entrance. Lyubshin was long and hopelessly married. In 1955 he got married. His chosen one was not connected with the world of art and the meeting took place in very prosaic circumstances and far from the bohemian atmosphere. Svetlana, a student of the Agricultural Academy, came to Ljubšin’s native village of Vladykino near Moscow for practice. The future actor himself also mastered only a work specialty – he trained as a welder and worked as a watchman on the state farm where his father and mother worked. But in the back of his mind, he still thought about taking a risk and auditioning for the theater. Classes at the local drama club convinced Lyubshin that the stage was his real calling.

He was only 22 years old – and his life changed dramatically in all areas at once. Lyubshin married Svetlana, entered the Higher Theater School named after MS Shchepkin and became a father – the firstborn Yuri was born to the young couple.

The bohemian environment in which Ljubšin found himself became a source of endless experiences for his wife, who soon began working as an editor of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia.

At school, the handsome Lyubshin immediately found himself in the center of female attention, and then his partners on stage and in the cinema will be such magnificent actresses as Zhanna Bolotova, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Alla Demidova and Anastasia Vertinskaya.

Svetlana did not deny that she was jealous of her husband, because she was afraid of office romances, but Lyubshin was not characterized by frivolity. Yes, and Svetlana tried to be there: first she went to her husband’s student performances, tried not to “bother” him too much on the subject of earnings and let his dream come true, and then provided him with a strong background when Lyubshin became an all-Union star. In 1964, the couple’s second son, Vadim, was born.

Despite Ljubšin’s busyness and Svetlana’s worries, the family remained strong. It would seem that the older the actor was, the less reason for Svetlana to worry – what can destroy a relationship when people have been living together for 44 years? And yet it happened – a late love suddenly entered Lyubshina’s life.

The heart does not want rest

Lyubshin was already 60 years old when he met journalist Irina Korneeva during a tour in Poland. The girl was only 20 years old and came to interview the actor after the performance. And he stayed in his life.

Few people believed in the sincerity of Irina’s feelings surrounded by Lyubshin, Svetlana openly accused her rival of self-interest and the desire to bask in the rays of someone else’s glory, but nothing could be done – Lyubshin was determined and wanted a divorce.

Later Svetlana recalled that the marriage began to crack when Stanislav Andreevich moved to the Moscow Art Theater and began to drink more often – the joint drinking of the actors was strongly encouraged by Oleg Efremov, who was then the theater’s artistic director. If Svetlana still had a hard time leaving her husband, then the couple’s adult sons reacted to the divorce with understanding – they both believed that their parents were always too different people.

The actor’s eldest son became a cameraman, the youngest tried his hand as an actor, but eventually went into business. But granddaughter Lyubshina continued the dynasty and entered VGIK.

Although at first everyone gave Lyubshin’s romance with the young sorceress short shrift, these skeptics were eventually put to shame. The actor first celebrated the 70th anniversary with Irina, then the 80th anniversary, and now the 90th anniversary.

Feelings were tested and strong blows of fate. Lyubshin, who already married Irina in 2006, had a stroke, and it was a young woman who left the artist and helped him return to the stage.

Ljubšin continues on the stage of his native Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov, in which he has played since 1981, and still receives standing ovations. And Irina is always next to her husband and helps him in everything.
