Treacherous wind: Kate Middleton narrowly avoided public embarrassment in a sophisticated way 14.03.2023, 09:00

Members of the British royal family gathered for the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Prince William’s wife looked stunning in a £3,000 navy blue floral Erdem suit. Erdem Moralioglu is one of the royal’s favorite designers.

The royal jacket was embellished with a peplum ruffle, as well as stitching around the waist for a corset effect and a flared midi skirt. The outfit allowed Kate Middleton to emphasize her slim figure. This suit is from the brand’s Pre-Fall’23 collection, so it’s not yet available for regular fashionistas. The Princess of Wales also wore a sophisticated Philip Treacy hat and Gianvitto Rossi pumps, a small Emma London clip and soft suede gloves.

Kate did a light daytime make-up and pulled her hair into an elegant hairstyle. For the event, she chose special commemorative jewelry that paid tribute to deceased members of the royal family – double-stranded sapphire flower-shaped earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana, as well as a diamond feather brooch from the collection of Elizabeth II.

Diana was seen wearing these earrings several times before her death in 1997, including attending the Met Gala in New York in 1996 and during a visit to Canada in 1991. Kate has now passed them on to her eldest son’s wife and wore them in June when she visited Trooping the Color as part of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations. The brooch, which once belonged to Queen Alexandra, was worn by the princess during the first state visit of Charles III. in November 2022.

At the same time, the wind was so strong and gusty that day that Kate had to hold on to the hem of her skirt and hold on to her hat tightly to keep it from flying off. As a result, the measures helped the royal family avoid public embarrassment.

At the service, the King paid tribute to his “wonderful” mother as he delivered his Commonwealth Day message for the first time. The event was also attended by the monarch’s wife, Queen Consort Camilla; Princess Anne; the new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh (Prince Edward and Sophie of Wessex), reports the Daily Mail.

The Royals were welcomed by Ngati Ranana, the London Maori Club, who performed outside the Abbey.
