Michelle stood up on stage and gave a heartbreaking speech. “Ladies, don’t let anyone tell you that your dawn is in the past. Never give up!” Yeo said. She dedicated her victory to her 84-year-old mother, who watched the award broadcast in Malaysia.
“I dedicate this figure to my mother and all the mothers of the world, because they are real superheroes. Without them, none of us would be here tonight. I’m taking this award home to my mom. History is being made here!” Michelle shared emotionally. She became the first Asian star to win an Oscar in the leading acting category.
The painting “Everything is everywhere and at once” won seven statuettes.
