“My child is beautiful!”: 82-year-old Roberto Cavalli became a father for the sixth time 3.10.2023, 08:55

The state of the prominent constructor is estimated at 500 million dollars. The former Swedish Playboy model made the couturier a father for the sixth time. Robert was moved by the appearance of the heir to the world.

“Sandra is fine. The baby that was born a week ago right here in Florence is beautiful and it was very exciting to see him right after birth,” said Cavalli.

The child was named Giorgio. That was the name of the fashion designer’s father, who was shot by the Nazis at the end of World War II. “His name is Giorgio, like his grandfather, my father… Who was shot by the Nazis during the Cavrilla massacre when I was four years old,” explained Roberto in an interview with Novella 2000 magazine.

The fashion designer raised children Tommaso and Cristina with his first wife Silvanella Giannoni, whom he married in 1964. They divorced 10 years later. He then married the Austrian fashion designer Eva Maria Düringer in 1980, with whom he has three children: Roberta, Rachel and Daniele. The couple divorced in 2010. Roberto has been dating model Sandra since 2014.

Cavalli was greatly shocked by the death of his father. Giorgio’s murder left his son mute until he came of age. “I had a difficult childhood. My father was with the Germans in July 1944 during the raid on Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni. He was a surveyor, he worked in a mine in Valdarn… I didn’t speak until I was 18. But life has been kind to me and I have been rewarded… For everything,” said the designer.

In 2015 Roberto bought Sandra, who is 45 years his junior, the island of Stora Rullingen, about 50 miles (over 80 km) east of Stockholm, for £2.2 million. The island has a four-bedroom villa, a hunting lodge, a swimming pool and the remains of a Viking site, as well as a golf course.

Sandra was seen by Robert’s side as early as 2010, when he broke up with his second wife. She was born in Sjöbo in southern Sweden. At the age of 14, she was spotted by a modeling agent on a family holiday in Paris. Her parents advised her to wait until after high school to pursue modeling, but after completing her nursing degree with the Swedish equivalent of A-Level, she began posing part-time and worked as a personal assistant.

The star was a contestant on Scandinavian Topmodel and won several beauty pageants, including Sweden’s Miss Hawaiian Tropics, before being named Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in January 2008.
