The actress was remembered by the Soviet and Russian audiences primarily for her role as Nadia’s mother in the cult film Irony of Fate or Enjoy a Bath. She was 54 years old at the time of filming. In general, Sokolova often played the role of mothers, for which she earned the unofficial title “All-Union Film Mom”. But she made her film debut at the age of 20 in 1941 – and in her youth she was very spectacular and looked a bit like Hollywood actress Vivien Leigh.

The actress admitted that they did not want to shoot her because her appearance was inappropriate.
Another mother from Irony of Fate or Enjoy the Bath, this time Zhenya Lukashin, was played by actress Lyubov Dobzhanskaya. Few people knew that this simple Soviet woman was played by an aristocrat – Dobzhanskaya was born into a noble family before the revolution (according to some sources in 1905, according to others – in 1908). She played more than 120 roles in the theater and was also a talented singer. The actress was married four times, but never gave birth to children. She died in 1980 in Moscow at the age of 75.

In parallel, she worked in the most ordinary positions: from administrator at Mosfilm to head administrator of the Sports Palace in Luzhniki. Stakhanova has more than 200 roles to her credit – not every star can boast such a list. Today, the actress is 82 years old and continues to actively act and remains the queen of the episode.
