Dina became famous for her bright role in Valery Todorovsky’s “Land of the Deaf”, for which she won the Nika Award. After leaving Russia, she worked in the USA, England and France, appearing on the stage of the Royal Theater in London. The artist met Louis Frank in Russia in 1995: the young man came along with Oleg Tabakov’s first American course.
The couple had two daughters: Itala and Sofia. The girls felt good abroad, where they studied in English. However, Dina realized that she only wanted to live in Russia.
She explained that in recent years, hostility towards Russians has progressed even in upper-class families. “Visiting several houses there, I was amazed how proudly they demonstrated their fascist ancestors in officer’s uniforms: “That’s my grandfather! That’s my great-grandfather!” There are books on the shelves about the Empire… And I opened my eyes and there were invisible explosions inside. I looked and could not believe that the people were not re-evaluated… They are not only proud, they continue this philosophy, “explained the artist.
One day, a psychologist came to her children’s school wearing high heels and a dress. It turned out that the educational institution has another psychologist who will deal with issues of sex education. Dina and her husband were against it.
“We were told that it was mandatory and that it was a decree of UNICEF, an organization that works with children and youth. All this was already in such abundance that I said to my husband: “Louis, please… You see what is happening in the world. Let’s go to Russia, that is the safest place,” explained Dina.
They finally decided to move. Life in Russia had to start from the very beginning, but at the same time the actress does not regret anything. Dina admitted that her husband is having a hard time. “We are happy… They let us go to school during the holidays, children run to gym without masks, they treat us like human beings… In Russia, people think they can talk. I’m so glad we’re here. It’s hard for my husband. He reads, writes and speaks Russian well. But his family and friends tear him apart and pull him to their side, “said Korzun in an interview with AiF.
Dina Korzun together with Chulpan Khamatova founded the Gift of Life charity foundation. Egor Beroev believes that Chamatov’s emigration undermined the charity’s credibility in Russia. The star of the drama “Doctor Lisa” herself emigrated to Latvia. She recently performed in the US, where she almost froze to death on stage.
