So judging by the available information, Roman Kostomarov was overtaken by a combination of two problems. This is a very difficult treatment. Most often, unfortunately, the prognosis is unfavorable, ”explained Andrey Osipov, an honored doctor of Russia, to the Podmoskovye Segodnya publication.

A skater in the intensive care unit may have atherosclerosis, said neurologist Rustem Gayfutdinov, associate professor of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Kazan State Medical University. The doctor emphasized that the presence of gangrene testified to Roman’s serious condition.

Roman was hospitalized on January 10 with severe pneumonia. In early February, due to complications, his legs and later his fingers were amputated. Kostomarov cannot breathe on his own, so he had to be re-connected to a ventilator (artificial lung ventilation).

He noted that Kostomarov had “minimal chances of survival” after being admitted to the clinic.
