Kostomarov is considered one of the most charismatic Russian figure skaters. Together with Taťána Navka, he won the Olympic Games in 2006. In the show Ice Age, Roman won in a pair with Chulpan Khamatová and Julia Kovalchuk. The athlete also successfully performed in this project with Alena Babenko, Sati Kazanova, Regina Todorenko, Valeria Lanskaya and other artists.
“Of course, Roma Kostomarov was nominated by providence for the role of alpha male! – Dmitry Dibrov expressed his opinion in the studio of the talk show “Stars have aligned”. – How many millions of our compatriots wanted someone like Kostomarov: bright, non-drinker, non-smoker. Providence wanted the hero of our time to look like this!’
Iosif Prigozhin assured that Kostomarov did well at the Mask show. The TV presenter and producer suggested that the skater even sang well. Dibrov spoke in Kommunarka about the condition of the athlete after leg amputation.
“Roma can show us all how a person can overcome hardships that are unimaginable,” emphasized Dmitry. – And then we will understand what a strange business it is when such a smart person goes through such trials! But didn’t Alexei Maresyev pass these tests? Maybe it will be the same as with Roma?
In April 1942, Yak-1 Alexei Maresyev was shot down in the area of Demyansky boiler (Novgorod region). While trying to make an emergency landing in the forest, the plane fell from a height of 30 meters. The pilot crushed both legs. For 18 days, Alexei crawled through forests and swamps to the people to the east, orienting himself by the sun. Doctors saved Maresyev’s life, but they had to amputate both of his legs. The hero is back. In total, during the war, he made 86 sorties, shot down 10 enemy aircraft: three before his injury and seven after.
Kostomarov’s friend, skater Ivan Skobrev, said he was conscious after the amputation, but his condition was serious. “He can’t really talk. He’s moving his lips, trying to stand up, tossing and turning a bit,” Ivan said.
Doctors said they would not be able to save all 10 of Roman’s fingers. The skater agreed to amputate them.
