In 1987, actor Matthew Broderick toured Northern Ireland with actress Jennifer Gray (star of Dancing with the Stars), whom he was dating at the time. Broderick was driving when their car collided with another vehicle carrying two women, Ann Gallagher, 28, and her mother, 63. They both died. Broderick ended up in the hospital with his injuries and Gray escaped with a few bruises. Broderick was eventually allowed to return to the United States, but only after a $4,075 bond was posted. Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband-to-be could potentially face up to 10 years in prison – five years for each death. Broderick was eventually convicted of reckless driving and ordered to pay a $175 fine. Relatives of the victims called it “a travesty of justice”.
