In July 2005, six months after her birth, a baby named Zahara found new parents – the famous Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It’s a myth. After Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopted Zahara, the media began to gather information. So there were reports that the employees of the orphanage tried to dissuade Jolie from taking the child: according to the documents, the girl’s parents allegedly died of AIDS.

This information turned out to be a hoax. Upon examination, it was revealed that Zakhara was not infected with the virus and her own mother was in fact alive and well. Perhaps, such a rumor was started by Zakhar’s biological relatives themselves, because they did not want to let the girl into a completely different world, another culture, another continent.

And there is. At birth, the biological mother named the baby girl Emasrech (or Emsrach). Already after the adoption, Angelina and Brad changed the baby’s name to a more harmonious one – Zahara Marley. Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt. Nice?

It’s a myth. In 2017, Zahara’s biological mother appeared, pleading through the media: “Please let me speak to my daughter.” Then the press was full of headlines “Stolen life”, “Slavery of the 21st century”, “children for sale”: Angelina was called a kidnapper of children.

Zahara’s biological mother accused Ethiopian officials of fraud and Jolie – of forgery. However, lawyers proved that the adoption was completely legal, since all the girl’s relatives officially refused guardianship.

Unfortunately, this is the bitter truth. Zahara has a difficult birth history. In 2004, an 18-year-old girl from the poor Ethiopian village of Mantewab was visiting her grandmother. At night, a man entered the house and raped the girl, and soon after she realized that she was pregnant (to this day, Zakhara is her first and only child). As a beggar, Mantewab knew she would never raise a child.

The situation was aggravated by the girl’s physical health: she was thin and sickly, and the pregnancy had completely exhausted her. The fact that Mantewab carried the fruits of rape under her heart also hurt her because, as a girl without honor, no man would marry her again. And then she fled to the neighboring town of Khosayn.

On January 8, 2005, Mantewab gave birth to a daughter, when she herself was on the verge of nervous and physical exhaustion. She was seriously ill and could not take care of her daughter. “My mother and uncle offered to put her up for adoption. I was so weak that I agreed. If I had the opportunity to fix everything, I would definitely do it,” Zakhara’s biological mother admitted years later. So, soon after the birth, the baby went to the baby’s house. And Angelina first met the baby when she was 6 months old, during a trip to Ethiopia as part of a UN humanitarian mission. He fell in love with those eyes and decided to adopt her.

The Ethiopian beauty grew up to be a strong and calm girl. Over the years, Zakhara has blossomed: today she is a real lady, feminine, graceful, elegant.
