“I watched with a trembling heart”: Katerina Shpitsa admitted that she was surprised by the new “Cheburashka” 04/01/2023, 15:35

On the first day of the new year, the film “Cheburashka” was released. This is a new reading of the story of the iconic character of Soviet cartoons. The main character appeared in the usual image of a cute creature with big ears. And the Russians did not see Gena the crocodile in his usual form. He was played by actor Sergei Garmash.

Katerina Spitz was one of the first to see the film. The star of the series “Polar” came to the premiere with his 10-year-old son German. The actress admitted that she wasn’t sure she would like the film.

“I went, I admit, with a little excitement and even a trembling of the heart, because Cheburashka is for many of us a shrine of childhood, and it was very scary to be disappointed. I always try to go to movies without expectations, with the freshest possible ground for impressions, so as not to compare myself to anything, but here, you see, it’s quite difficult. In addition, it was clear from the trailer that we will not see the animated crocodile Geno, and it was interesting what solution the creators will choose for this character,” said Shpitsa.

This made the movie star and her son like the movie. The actress was not embarrassed by the absence of the usual Gena crocodiles. He believes that Garmash did an excellent job in his role. “The hero played by Sergei captured his depth. And the interpretation of Shapoklyak in the face of the heroine Elena Yakovleva turned out to be curious. And Cheburashka’s drawing is very charming. Well, and most importantly, these are the important meanings of each person’s life, expressed by the mouths of all heroes. We left the movie in a great mood!” Katherine assured.

According to the actress, the film “Cheburashka” is an excellent opportunity to arrange a trip to the cinema, which unites several generations of the family. “Tip: always watch the subtitles until the end! Cheburashka will be another funny hello from childhood. And try the Cheburashka ice cream in cinemas, created especially for the time of the film’s release. The combination of chocolate and orange is delicious!” ” said the movie star.

Cheburashka is a character from Eduard Uspensky’s book Crocodile Gena and his friends. In 1969, the cartoon film Krokodyl Gena by Roman Kachanov was released, based on this work. After that, three more cartoons were made.

On the first day of distribution, the film “Cheburashka” collected more than 225 million rubles. It was a training camp record that day in Russia. And in three days of rental, the family film collected more than a billion rubles.
