Taika Waititi was born and raised in New Zealand, where he began his career. The future winner of the Oscar and BAFTA awards first tried the stand-up genre and toured as part of the comedy duo The Humourbeasts. At the same time, Taika became interested in cinema and started making short films. One of his works, Two Cars, One Night, was even nominated for an Oscar in 2005, but it was still far from an unconditional success.
Waititi looked different in those years. Check out this footage from the opening of the All Roads Film Festival in Hollywood. Here, Taika looks more like a dressed office than an artist. We’re sure this knit vest would definitely not have captured Rita Ora’s imagination if she met Taika back in 2004.
Waititi achieved great success in 2014, when the pseudo-documentary “Real Ghouls” was released, where he not only played one of the main roles, but also became a co-writer and co-director. And then successful projects followed one after another.
Today, Taika often appears at social events, takes photos for magazines and looks like a real dandy. Stylish style, noble gray hair, perfect tuxedos and bright printed shirts – handsome man!
