“Generosity is amazing”: Johnny Depp donated a million dollars from Amber Heard to charity 15.06.2023, 10:40

The 60-year-old actor ended the divorce proceedings with Amber Heard six months ago. The star of the movie “Aquaman”, who accused Depp of domestic violence, was fined 10 million dollars (837 million rubles). Later, the lawyers of the ex-spouses agreed to reduce moral damages to 1 million dollars (8.3 million rubles).

Amber paid Johnny this amount on June 13. The main actor in the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” donated all the money raised to charity. An acquaintance of Depp said he split the funding between five funds – the Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, the Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance.

Tetiaroa Society chief executive Frank Murphy thanked Johnny for the noble gesture. “Mr. Depp’s generosity is amazing and we are honored to be among the wonderful organizations he supports. His donation will help the Tetiaroa Society work to protect Tetiaroa, support indigenous peoples in the Pacific and help find solutions to climate change in the oceans,” TMZ quoted Franka as saying.

The legal team of actress Lily-Rose Depp’s father confirmed that everything ended well. Lawyers Benjamin Chu and Camilla Vasquez assured that their client never tried to cash in on the divorce with Amber.

“We are pleased to officially close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who has made it clear throughout this trial that his priority is to shed light on the truth,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted the lawyers as saying.

Amber embarked on her career after finalizing a high-profile divorce. The actress is preparing to enter the red carpet of the film festival in the Italian city of Taormina. Hurd will present the premiere of the film “On Fire” to the public.

Johnny made a triumphant return to the film world after the Hollywood boycott. The artist became a guest at the Cannes Film Festival. The audience greeted him with a 7-minute standing ovation.
