Why petrol will be significantly more expensive on Thursday

Why petrol will be significantly more expensive on Thursday

Gasoline is getting more expensive again. Fuel prices will rise again on Thursday. It’s best to fill up today or tomorrow.

From April 1, 2022, excise duties on fuel will be reduced. This made diesel, petrol and LPG cheaper. The tax cut has been extended to June 30.

Gasoline is getting a little more expensive again

As of Thursday, gasoline is 13.8 cents more expensive than the day before. With a tank filling of 50 liters there is a surcharge of 6.90 euros. According to United Consumers, the current price of Euro95 is 1,972 euros (May 30, 2023). This means that from Thursday you will have to pay about 2.11 euros per liter of Euro95.

LPG and diesel are also more expensive

It’s not just petrol that’s getting more expensive. Diesel and liquid gas are also increasing in price. Instead of excise duty of 4.17 cents per liter, you will pay excise duty of 5.16 cents from July 1st. An increase of 0.99 cents per liter.

LPG is also increasing in price. From Thursday you will pay 0.32 cents more per liter.

The price of petrol will continue to rise in 2024

Although petrol, diesel and LPG are becoming more expensive, the price is not yet at the old level. From January 1, 2024, fuel will be 22.5 cents more expensive per liter compared to today. The excise duty will then return to the pre-April 1, 2022 level. Fortunately, that will take a while. For now: refuel until Thursday!
