The Hyundai Kona is a success for the brand. Now it’s time for the next chapter. With a look at the price list, we take a closer look at the new Kona.
The new Hyundai Kona is essentially a streamlined evolution of the previous model, but it grows significantly. The difference in width and height is not too big, but there is an additional 15 centimeters in length. This mainly benefits the legroom in the rear. At the beginning of the year we were able to inspect the car personally, today we take a look at the specific variants and equipment.
Hybrid only
The new Hyundai Kona will of course also be available as a fully electric model, but only the two hybrid variants are currently available. Well, two… The mild hybrid is of course not a true hybrid. The hybrid version is. The mild hybrid goes by the name of 1.0 T-GDI 48V and has an output of 88 kW (120 hp). The 100 km/h is reached in 12 seconds.
If you are in a hurry and/or want to drive more economically, go for the hybrid. You then have a system output of 101 kW (144 hp) at your disposal and you can reach 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds. Average consumption is 4.5 l/100 km (average consumption of the mild hybrid has not yet been determined). For us, the choice is clear: it will be the hybrid. It undoubtedly has the lowest consumption of the two and still delivers the most horsepower.
Prices of new Hyundai Kona
However, the hybrid has a higher starting price than the mild hybrid: 33,995 euros compared to 29,995 euros (30,995 euros with comparable equipment). That can be an argument for opting for the mild hybrid. Depending on your type of journey, you will earn back the price difference compared to the hybrid thanks to the lower consumption.
Hyundai itself therefore has the highest expectations of the hybrid and this is reflected in the model range. The mild hybrid is only available as i-Motion and Comfort. The Hybrid is at least a Comfort and also offers the Premium, N-Line and other variants based on it. The most expensive model in the price list is the N Line Sky, available from 41,195 euros. The rest is equally in between.
Standard equipment Hyundai Kona
Some highlights from the standard equipment: 16-inch alloy wheels, fabric upholstery, heated exterior mirrors, high-beam assistant, reversing camera, tire pressure monitor, 12.3-inch multimedia screen, three years of free Hyundai Bluelink and more -Air updates and of course the necessary safety features. and assistance systems.
We opt for the Comfort Smart version. With a starting price of 36,495 euros, you’re still not paying the top price, but you simply have something more on board. Includes: 18″ leather-trimmed alloy steering wheel, automatic climate control, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, fully digital dashboard, cruise control with Stop & Go, Highway Driving Assist, power tailgate and more park assists.

When fighting a gray fleet, a shade of green (albeit greyish) is the default color. If you still want boring white, it costs 695 euros. In combination with a black roof, you spend a total of 495 or 1,190 euros extra. The metallic and mother-of-pearl finishes come into play for a surcharge of 795 euros. Mainly black and shades of gray, but also greyish light blue, very dark blue, dark red and even bright red. In combination with a black roof, metallic paint costs 1,295 euros extra. We opt for dark red, but reject the additional price for a black roof.
interior design
Here, too, there is little choice, because only black fabric upholstery is possible for the selected equipment variant.

Here we are quickly finished, because neither applies. So what you have on board and what not, you decide based on the equipment.
