Dive into Price List: BYD Han, End of Tesla Model 3?
BYD is one of many new entrants. They come not only with SUV models, but also with a sedan. We dive into the price list of the BYD Han, a competitor of the Tesla Model 3.
We don’t have to tell you anymore that many new car brands have come to the Netherlands since last year. BYD is one of these new manufacturers. Like many other brands, the brand debuts with SUV models – Atto 3 and Tang – but also with a sedan model. This is the Han. Like the Tang, it is named after a Chinese dynasty. Hence the somewhat unusual type name. For the sake of completeness: the Atto 3 isn’t named after anything.
BYD Han is the new competitor of the Tesla Model 3
The BYD Han was launched in China in 2020 and is available there as a plug-in hybrid and as an all-electric car. For the 2022 model year the Han has undergone another facelift and this is the model that is now also available here in Europe. Interestingly, BYD works with Daimler in China, which means that some Mercedes-Benz influences can be found especially in the interior and equipment. So the quality is good.
Specifications BYD Han
The BYD Han is available with a powertrain. Two electric motors ensure all-wheel drive, a system output of 380 kW (517 hp) and a torque of a whopping 700 Nm. The 100 km/h is already reached in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is modest at 180 km/h, but that’s the case with more electric vehicles. The 85.4 kWh battery is good for a range of 521 km (WLTP).
Prices BYD Han
The BYD Han is available in the Netherlands from 72,490 euros. Then you get almost everything immediately. There are two trim levels, both richly equipped: the Executive and the Emerald. The latter is available from 75,990 euros and is more of a kind of special version, more on that later.
Equipment BYD Han
What do you get for the money? The Executive is equipped with, among other things, 19-inch alloy, full LED lighting, heated exterior mirrors, power tailgate, sound, heat and UV resistant windscreen and front side windows, rear privacy glass, panoramic glass roof, air filter for the Interior, 12.3 inch digital instrument panel, 15.6 inch rotating(!) touchscreen, extensive electrically adjustable front seats with nappa leather upholstery, seat heating and ventilation front and rear, 7 inch control panel for the rear passengers. Of course, extensive infotainment and connectivity options as well as a mountain of assistance and safety systems are not missing.
The aforementioned Emerald is only available in Dark Green (a model-specific body color) and is further distinguished by some model-specific decorations. What’s notable about the spec is that the Emerald only offers a more powerful wireless smartphone charger.
decoration
In terms of visual decoration, the BYD Han doesn’t go much further than body colors. You can choose between red, blue, grey, white and black. The interior color can be chosen between a greyish dark brown or a clear light brown tone. There is no other wheel choice. All color options are no-cost options, that’s for sure.
Assemble yourself
There are also no separate options, so we have already reached the end of the configurator. The brand’s configurator is as simple as the range: you only see the different body colors of the BYD Han. So below is the small amount of European footage available of the car. Check all specifications and equipment? You can do that at www.bydauto.nl.
