Lamborghini’s most powerful engine delivers so much power
Lamborghini is of course known from the fast super sports cars and the Urus. Traditionally, there is a thick V12 under the hood (not in the SUV), which delivers a lot of power. The engine of the Aventador successor also has twelve cylinders and is even the most powerful ever!
Behind the front seats is a 6.5-liter non-turbocharged V12. Although this powerhouse is anything but green, the Italians reduce engine emissions by 30 percent compared to the Aventador Ultimae.
Lamborghini’s most powerful engine
Lamborghini’s most powerful engine is therefore still a large V12, but it emits less than the previous versions. How this is possible is simple. The engine was slightly improved on all sides, for example the intake ports. To reduce emissions, the upcoming Lamborghini, which is internally codenamed LB744, has three electric motors on board in addition to an internal combustion engine. One of these power sources is integrated into the new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Not a PHEV, but an HPEV
The batteries for the electric motors are hidden in the transmission tunnel. The batteries can be charged with a plug, so the car with the most powerful Lamborghini engine is a plug-in hybrid. Ferrari does not call it PHEV, but HPEV: High Performance Electrified Vehicle.
The batteries have a capacity of 3.8 kWh. So there’s not much electric driving. However, the electric power helps deliver more power.
Lamborghini’s most powerful V12 engine
The V12, codenamed L545, weighs 218 kilograms, 17 kilograms less than the Aventador. Lamborghini’s most powerful engine delivers 825 hp at 9250 rpm and 725 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm. In this way, 128 hp are squeezed out of each cylinder – without any electricity.
Together, the electric motors deliver a further 350 Nm of torque. Together with the electric motors, the Lamborghini LB744 delivers 1015 hp. Although this one from Lamborghini is the most powerful even without electricity, the electric motor makes it even crazier. It remains to be seen whether we will see a car with the most powerful Lamborghini engine go into production. However, it is not unlikely that the successor to the Aventador will get this powertrain.
