You want this occasion: Honda e, expensive but well thought out
Autovisie is always looking for used cars for enthusiasts and therefore searches the listings on the sales site Gaspedal.nl. This time we found a nice Honda e.
The Honda e is small, has a limited range and is expensive. But the mischievous electric city car has a clear mission: to fight urban air pollution, in a place where hundreds of kilometers of range are irrelevant. Luckily, because he doesn’t manage to drive hundreds of kilometers.
On the road with the Honda e
Autovisie has tested the car extensively and even driven it as an endurance test. “The great thing about an endurance test is that you really get to know a car. For the time being, we mainly use the Honda as it is intended: in the city and in the region. And he fulfills this task very well.”
“We enjoy this very small turning circle every day, which means that we can almost always turn in one go without stinging. You can steer the front wheels of this rear-wheel drive car almost at right angles. Even when cornering normally, the smile remains, the Honda e really bends down. The steering feel is light but clean and precise enough.”
The screen directly in front of you looks futuristic at first glance, but the relevant information is easy to read. The two screens in the middle can be filled according to your own taste. “The seats are okay, even on longer journeys, which we make aware of, because loading speeds and highway qualities are part of it. But for many Honda E users, they are exceptions.”
Technical specifications
How fast does it load? In practice, it takes half an hour to charge the 35.5 kWh battery pack from 0 to 80 percent on the fast charger. AC charging works with a maximum of 6.6 kW. In practice, consumption is around 20 kWh per 100 kilometers, which gives the Honda e a range of 178 kilometers. If you drive on a freeway with temperatures around 0 degrees, then 130 kilometers can become a challenge.
The battery powers a 154 hp or 136 hp electric motor. The top version delivers 315 Nm of torque and sprints from a standing start to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.3 seconds. Acceleration stops when the limiter intervenes at 145 km/h.
Inspirational design
In terms of electric performance, the Honda e isn’t very exciting, but the design – which borrows from the first Honda Civic – is inspired. “At the moment we are using the streets of Amsterdam mainly as a catwalk and we are happy about the high ratings because it is not only a special performance, but also a rare performance due to the low number of sales.
The Honda e occasion
Autovisie makes such a rare appearance with just over 18,000 kilometers on the clock. The copy is from 2020 and has 154 hp on board.
The seller demands 29,740 euros for the Honda e. If you apply for a grant in time, you will receive a refund of 2000 euros after the purchase. You can read exactly how this works here. If you’re curious about our endurance test experiences with the Honda e, keep an eye on our magazine.
