Why you can now get a subsidy on a Tesla Model 3
We would be very upset if we had just bought a Tesla Model 3. Why? Because the American EV manufacturer saves thousands of euros from the asking price in one fell swoop. Nice for new customers, of course, but a bit sour for existing customers.
What’s wrong? Things are a little less successful at Tesla. The stock price has plummeted – causing Elon Musk to suddenly lose $182 billion in wealth – and demand for Teslas is falling.
Tesla Model 3 eligible
A cornered cat makes weird leaps, so Tesla decided to make a series of bizarre price cuts. This creates an interesting situation for us because the Tesla Model 3 is now actually eligible.
The subsidy for private individuals applies to electric cars with a purchase price of less than 45,000 euros. And the Model 3 is now available from 44,990 euros, which means that Tesla has made a reduction of 7,000 euros (!).
Not only the rear-wheel drive basic version of the Model 3 has become cheaper, but also the Dual Motor Long Range and Performance. The first goes to 52,990 euros (minus 7,000 euros), the second to 59,990 euros (minus 6,000 euros).
Model Y whopping 12,000 euros cheaper
You save less on the Model Y, the crossover variant of the Model 3. Tesla lowers the price by 3000 euros and now offers the Model Y for 46,990 euros.
The price reduction for the Model Y Dual Motor Long Range, which has become no less than 12,000 euros (!) cheaper (now 53,990 euros), is completely crazy. You pay 63,990 euros (minus 6,000 euros) for the performance.
