Dive into the price list: Lucid Air, that’s what the Tesla Model S competitor costs
The promising Lucid Air can now also be ordered in the Netherlands. We dive into the price list and put one together.
Lucid is perhaps one of the most interesting newcomers to the EV market. We’ve written a lot about it. The first model, the Lucid Air, can now also be ordered in the Netherlands. We’ll briefly dive into the price list to put one together.
Lucid Air in four flavors
Well, Price List, like many other newcomers, doesn’t do Lucid (yet). Instead of a classic price list, there is an extensive configurator. It already shows us all four models: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring and Dream Edition. For the time being only the latter, the absolute top model, has a Dutch price tag. The Dream Edition is therefore also the starting point for our configuration. Apparently there is already enough interest, because the model’s reservation has already been closed. You can still reserve the other models, but there are no final Dutch prices for them yet.
Lucid Air Dream Edition
The Lucid Air Dream Edition lives up to its name. The specifications stimulate the imagination. There are two versions, the Performance and the Range. The Performance has a system output of 817 kW (1,111 PS) and a torque of 1,390 Nm, with a 0-100 sprint in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h. The range is 780 km (WLTP). The Dream Edition Range manages it with 686 kW (933 hp) with the same torque, it hardly brakes because it reaches 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The big advantage, as the name suggests, is the range, which is no less than 900 km (WLTP).
As a guide: ‘entry-level’ Pure has 480 hp and a range of at least 653 km. However, this is a range according to the American EPA cycle, which is somewhat stricter than the European WLTP. Technically, the two touring models are somewhere between the Pure and the Dream Edition.
Pricing Lucid Air Dream Edition
As a Dream Edition, the Lucid Air costs a whopping 222,000 euros. Whether you choose the Performance or Range version. The entry-level model Pure will probably cost 100,000 euros in this country and the other models are also priced nicely in between.
Features Clear air
A detailed list with the complete standard equipment is not (yet) available, but some highlights are already known. They make a nice impression: a digital cockpit with a total of 34 inch screen, over-the-air updates, Alexa voice control, of course Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, a surreal sound system with 21 speakers and a very fast 900V charging system (in 14 min. 400 km quick charge) with bi-directional charging function.
Configure
So we choose the Dream Edition for our configuration and then the Performamce. While we’re at the almost unreal specs, that’s where we go the most. You can also choose the environment of the car in the configurator. We swap the Golden Gate Bridge for the Mojave Desert for a little more contrast between the car and the background.
exterior decoration
The Lucid Air Dream Edition is available in four exterior colors: the standard selected Eureka Gold, with black, white and very dark red options at no extra cost. We opt for the latter. We can exchange the 21 inch Aero Dream rims for the 19 inch Aero Range rims free of charge, but we do not do this. Standard for the Dream Edition are platinum and titanium exterior accents and a panoramic glass roof. So there is nothing to choose from.
interior design
The Dream Edition features model-specific Santa Monica trim. That means nappa leather in beautiful gray and beige tones and Alcantara inserts. “Silvered Eucalyptus” was used for the rest of the interior. With the Dream Edition you have no choice but this model-specific interior.
Lots of options Lucid Air
There aren’t any separate options either, as your choice of trim level will determine what you have and don’t have in the car. We see that with more and more brands. We have already spoken about the rich features of the Dream Edition.
Build Lucid Air yourself
So in the end we just went for a different body color and that keeps the price at €222,000. Big bucks, but you might get the electric car of the hour when it comes to advanced specs and technology. The Lucid Air configurator can be found at www.lucidmotors.com/nl-nl.
