The Formula 1 champion received the car from engine supplier Honda. He could also put an NSX in his garage for free and for nothing.

The Honda Civic Type R used by Max Verstappen can now be yours. The occasion is for sale via Catawiki.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The power source is good for 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque and only drives the front wheels. Max Verstappen’s Honda sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.8 seconds. The top speed is 272 kilometers per hour.

Not the first time you can buy Max Verstappen’s car

It’s not the first time Max Verstappen’s car has been auctioned off. The Honda Civic was also sold last year. The mileage at that time was 58,048 kilometers. The current seller has driven it less than 400 kilometers.

Although it has been in the hands of someone other than Max Verstappen for some time, the car still looks perfect and the signatures are exactly the same as when the car was sold last year. Verstappen’s signature is on the tailgate just below the Type-R logo and on the dashboard. The Formula 1 champion wrote his name on the carbon fiber strip just below the dashboard.

The opportunity is currently taking place in the Netherlands and has an expected yield of 50 to 60 grand. The auction runs until December 19th.

The regular Honda Civic Type R is worth the money

Although it is special that this Honda Civic Type R GT Max belonged to Verstappen, as a car enthusiast you can of course buy a “normal” Type R much cheaper. However, it’s not cheap either.
