Dive into the price list: Hyundai Ioniq 5 N – all-electric hot hatch

With ever-tightening emissions regulations, the hot hatchback segment is doomed. Or not? With the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, the brand is bringing its first purely electrically powered N model onto the market. Does the hot hatch still have a future? We familiarize ourselves with a look at the price list.

Since 2012, Hyundai N has been the sporty branch of the brand, the first model in 2016 was the Hyundai i30 N, a popular hatchback model. Now it’s time for the fifth Hyundai N model (the fourth for Europe and the third for the Netherlands): the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Once again, it’s a hot hatchback, although whether it’s actually one is debatable Hatchback model is. The Ioniw 5 has grown significantly and, despite its traditional hatchback shape, can compete with some SUV models.

Technical data Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

However, the specifications offer plenty of guarantees for sportiness. Two electric motors provide all-wheel drive and a whopping 478 kW (650 hp – peak power, otherwise 609 hp) and a torque of 740 Nm. 100 km/h is reached in 3.4 seconds and the top speed of 260 km/h is unusually high for an electric vehicle. If you take things a little easier, the 80 kWh (usable) battery still provides a range of 448 km.

Pure speed information does not say everything about sporting performance. For example, the car has been reinforced under the skin in the necessary places and there are things like N Drift OptimizerTorque Kick Drift and an electronic lock on the rear axle. Despite all-wheel drive, old-fashioned drifting is definitely possible. The N E-Shift system even simulates the character of an eight-speed automatic transmission, although we honestly don’t know if we think it’s such a great addition… You can read more details about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N here.

Price and features Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

As a fully electric car, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N bpm is free, but the price is still something to bear. In the completely standard Ioniq 5 you can start driving from 49,295 euros; for the 5 N you will spend at least 73,995 euros. Then you will immediately receive the car with all the trimmings. In addition to the things already mentioned, you get 21-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting, acoustic and heat-resistant windshield, tinted rear windows, Alcantara and leather-trimmed bucket seats (ventilated and heated), heated rear seats, head-up display, fully automatic air conditioning and Dehumidification, Bose premium audio system, automatic tailgate, battery preconditioning, V2L technology and a variety of advanced semi-autonomous driving systems.

Outdoor decoration

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is available in orange-red as standard. For 695 euros you can choose the non-metallic colors white and light blue (the blue presentation color), for 895 euros you get metallic gray, pearl black or pearl dark gray and for 1,095 euros you get one of the matte case colors: dark gray, light gray, white and light blue. So red and blue are the only “real” colors. Blue is probably already chosen by many as the “N color”, so we will go with the standard red. There is no other wheel choice for the N.

Interior decoration

We’re quickly done with the interior: the standard black leather and Alcantara is also the only option.

Separate options

Since you already get the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N with all the bells and whistles as standard, the options list is short. Very short. There is only one point on it: a panoramic roof for 895 euros. We do without this in a sports version like the 5 N.

Assemble the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N yourself

The price of our Hyundai Ioniq 5 N remains at 73,995 euros. How would you have assembled the car? Or do you think a “normal” Hyundai Ioniq 5 is fast enough? View all options in the configurator at www.hyundai.nl.
