The new Porsche Macan comes late, but is also 40,000 euros cheaper

The fact that the electric Porsche Macan is more than a year late certainly won’t hurt its success. Not at all in the Netherlands, where it benefits from a starting price that is 40,000 euros (!) cheaper.

A side note: It is not yet officially known how much the new Macan will cost. However, the importer assumes that the price list will start at around 85,000 euros.

Porsche Macan 4 and Turbo

And that’s a big improvement compared to the current situation, where the basic Macan with a four-cylinder turbo engine and 265 hp weighs well over 1,000 tons.

The successor can be ordered now and will be available from dealers in the second half of the year. It comes in two versions: the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo.

A maximum of 613 kilometers with the Porsche Macan

Both have all-wheel drive as standard, with an electric motor on the front axle and one on the rear axle, as well as a 95 kWh battery, which should give the Macan 4 a range of 613 kilometers. The turbo is 20 kilometers below.

To 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

With Launch Control activated, the Porsche Macan 4 delivers peak power of 408 hp and 650 Nm of torque, accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h.

The Turbo is on a completely different level, with its 639 hp and 1,139 Nm reaching 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Its top speed is 40 km/h higher than that of the Macan 4.

Premium platform electric

The Porsche Macan is the first model from the Volkswagen Group to use the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which will also be used in the upcoming Audi Q6 E-Tron.

The Porsche Macan has an 800-volt electrical system, which, like the Audi E-Tron GT and the Porsche Taycan, allows it to achieve a maximum DC charging speed of 270 kW.

What does this mean in practice? With the Macan, it takes around 21 minutes on the quick charger to bring the battery back to 80 percent.

Shared battery

Interestingly, at a 400-volt charging station, the Porsche Macan splits its 800-volt battery into two batteries, each with a nominal voltage of 400 volts. This makes charging with a maximum of 135 kW possible without having to use an additional voltage booster.
